About this listing

Where We Escape welcomes you to Pigeon House Lookout.

Until mid-December 2023, stay 7 nights for the price of 5! Pricing as advertised.

Get away from it all at Pigeon House Lookout. Booking this property grants you access to a private enclave not accessible to the general public. The home sits on 25 acres of native bushland, alongside a small group of properties surrounded by Morton National Park and accessed by a private road. The entire property will be all yours to enjoy during your stay.

The iconic Pigeon House Mountain dominates the skyline with both flanks of the mountain rising out of the National Park – this close-up view of the mountain is unique to Pigeon House Lookout. You will feel a sense of calm and privacy at Pigeon House Lookout where you can completely unwind and feel like you are having a break from the everyday.

The house has been designed so every window looks towards Pigeon House Mountain, the Morton National Park, or the garden. The deck provides a view of a big open sky that is never the same from day to day. In the evening you can watch the stars come out and the moon move across the night sky as you relax around the fire pit and pizza oven. The sun and moon set behind the mountain at certain times of year providing spectacular photo opportunities.

Around the house, the native garden has literally been created from the ashes of the Currowan bushfire which burnt out most of the property just before Christmas day 2019 during the Black Summer Bushfires. The garden provides habitat for a variety of native birds and, as the native bushland on the property has regrown, it is providing cover for wallabies and wombats to hide in during the day and then emerge at dusk to graze on the lawn. Ducks often raise their young around the dam. You can forage for fruit, vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers in the vegetable garden which was also rebuilt after the fire.

Reconnect with nature just by walking or mountain biking from the front door – explore the bush track on the property or venture further into the National Park. Or simply retreat to Pigeon House Lookout to replenish and rebalance. Be as active or relaxed as you choose.

The property feels remote, yet a short 10-20 min drive gets you to beaches, lakes and the townships of historic Milton, Ulladulla, Mollymook and Burrill Lake where you can enjoy local food, live music, and stock up with goodies for your stay.

The home has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living areas and a kitchen with coffee machine and Smeg appliances. There is Wi-Fi, reverse cycle air conditioning, washing machine, dryer, ceiling fans, BBQ, an inside fireplace, a fire pit outside and a pizza oven.

Fabulous Location and Amenities

We were pleasantly surprised at this amazing house and location. It is a rural location but not too far from Milton and Ulladulla and, of course, extremely quiet. It was a very well equipped house, and there was nothing more that we could have asked for. The beds were very comfortable, the view to Pigeon house at sunset was spectacular, and the wine and chocolate supplied was a nice touch.
